lisa's reviews

Reading is the only thing in the world I am good at. A lifetime of reading, fifteen years of working in bookstores, and libraries, and an obsession with the written word makes me qualified enough to talk someone's ear off about books.  Now I am getting more ARCs than I have room for in the house.  Let me get back to reading them!

The Twelve Tribes of Hattie - Ayana Mathis By the end of the first chapter I was crying, the plot (or plots rather) suck you in. I enjoyed this book much better than We Sinners, another book about a big family with each chapter told by a different sibling. This one felt much more real, much more down-to-earth, the writing was so much more accessible. I look forward to reading more by Ayana Mathis!
