lisa's reviews

Reading is the only thing in the world I am good at. A lifetime of reading, fifteen years of working in bookstores, and libraries, and an obsession with the written word makes me qualified enough to talk someone's ear off about books.  Now I am getting more ARCs than I have room for in the house.  Let me get back to reading them!

Cat's Claw - Susan Wittig Albert I love this series, but part of the reason I love it is because of China Bayles, the main character. The books that have come out recently all have stories told from the point of view of her friends, and I find I just enjoy them as much. The history told in this book is fascinating (and a million times better than The Drowning House, which I read earlier this year, about the same time and place in history) but the supernatural mumbo jumbo that was so much a part of this plot was ridiculous. I really hope the author goes back to writing solely from China's point of view.
